Originally written and recorded by Canadian singer Tom Cochrane in 1991, Life Is a Highway became a global hit again when Rascal Flatts covered it for Pixar's Cars in 2006. The song's road-trip spirit made it a natural fit for the film's opening journey, and it has since lived on far beyond the soundtrack. Online, creators reuse the chorus in travel videos, car edits and meme montages, keeping the track familiar to new audiences who may know the sound before they know the artist behind it.
