Billy Herrington was an American professional wrestler whose workout and wrestling videos were remixed on the Japanese video site Nico Nico Douga in the late 2000s. There he was nicknamed Aniki, meaning older brother, and became a central figure in Gachimuchi, a meme genre built from exaggerated edits of muscular wrestlers. Short vocal clips like this drawn out grunt were isolated and reused as reaction sounds, and the format spread to YouTube and soundboards, where Billy Aniki noises remain shorthand for over the top effort and absurd masculinity.
