The name comes from the Russian word perdezh, meaning a fart, with 90 suggesting it is one entry in a large numbered collection of similar clips shared on soundboards. Fart sounds have circulated online since the early days of meme and prank audio libraries because they require no language or context to understand. This numbered variant follows that tradition, offering a short isolated burst that editors can reuse repeatedly. It remains popular for pranks, reaction edits and toilet humor, where a familiar crude sound delivers the joke faster than any line of dialogue could.

Perdezh 90 is a short, loud fart sound effect lasting just over two seconds. It is used in meme edits, prank videos and reaction clips for crude comic timing.
Perdezh 90 is a brief, exaggerated fart noise that lands as a single blunt burst with a wet, sputtering tail. The sound is deliberately over the top rather than realistic, starting strong and fading quickly over about two seconds, which makes the joke land instantly. It works because it needs no setup or explanation, interrupting a serious moment, an awkward pause, or a character reaction with pure lowbrow absurdity. Viewers recognise the gag immediately, and the short length keeps it punchy without dragging, making it easy to drop into an edit exactly on the beat where the humor should hit.
