The sound comes from a Popeye voice clip that was lifted and shared as a standalone meme audio, with the line 'this man above me, fish react him' becoming its recognisable hook despite its garbled wording. As a user-generated soundboard entry, it spread through short reaction videos and meme edits where creators needed a fast, confused-sounding outburst from a familiar cartoon voice. Its appeal is not a clear story, but the mismatch between Popeye's confident delivery and the nonsense sentence, which keeps it useful for absurd humour and unexpected reveals.

Popeye says this man above me, fish react him in a short meme clip, often used in reaction edits when something absurd or unexpected happens on screen.
This clip captures Popeye in full cartoon bluster, delivering a garbled, emphatic line about the man above him and the fish reacting to him. His gravelly voice rises and falls with comic urgency, making the already strange wording sound even more ridiculous, while the short length keeps the punch landing fast. Listeners hear a classic animated character saying something that makes little sense out of context, and that confusion is the joke. It works as a sudden burst of nonsense energy, turning an ordinary scene into something absurd and instantly memorable for anyone who recognises the voice.
