The ba dum tsss rimshot has been used by live drummers in comedy clubs and variety shows for decades to mark the end of a one liner. As short video editing moved online, a clean recorded version became a stock reaction sound shared across forums, messaging apps and soundboards. This Windows labelled version is a short digital copy circulated by users for quick joke edits, keeping the same two hits and crash structure that audiences recognise instantly without needing any visual cue.

The Windows ba dum tsss sound effect is a short drum rimshot sting played after a punchline or bad joke for a comedic reaction in videos and memes.
This is a quick one second rimshot built from two snappy drum hits followed by a bright cymbal crash, the classic ba dum tsss pattern. The first hits are tight and dry, then the tsss rings out with a short metallic shimmer that gives the joke a clear full stop. It works because the timing is instantly familiar, listeners expect a punchline just before it lands. Used dry, without music underneath, it turns an awkward or deliberately corny line into a deliberate gag and signals to the audience that it is okay to groan or laugh.
