The exact original recording behind this clip is not clearly documented, so it is best known online as a short Greek meme sound rather than as a line from a named film or show. Its appeal comes from the familiar word kalispera, meaning good evening, delivered with far more force than a normal greeting needs. Shared in meme edits, reaction videos and short-form clips, it has become a shorthand for an over-the-top entrance or welcome. Its brevity and instantly recognisable shout keep it easy to drop into new edits years after it first circulated.
Über diesen Sound
Alekos shouting an exaggerated Greek good evening in this short viral clip, often used as a loud, funny greeting in memes and reaction videos.
This is a short, punchy clip of a man named Alekos delivering a loud, stretched-out Greek greeting, turning a simple good evening into a sudden burst of energy. His voice rises sharply on the opening sound before landing on the long, emphatic final syllable, making it feel both welcoming and absurdly dramatic at the same time. The recording is raw and direct, with no music or background noise to soften it, so the shout hits instantly. That contrast between an ordinary greeting and an over-the-top delivery is what makes listeners laugh and replay it.
