Keelhauled comes from Alestorm, the Scottish band that built a career around pirate-themed power metal, and it appears on their 2009 album Black Sails at Midnight. The song leans into the band's trademark mix of folk melodies, metal riffs and tongue-in-cheek pirate lyrics, which helped it become a favourite among fans of the genre. Online, short clips of its chorus circulate in gaming videos, pirate edits and metal compilations, where its rowdy energy fits moments of victory and chaos.
Über diesen Sound
An excerpt of Keelhauled by Scottish pirate metal band Alestorm, with guitars, keyboards and shouted choruses for high-energy edits and gaming montages.
The clip is a nine-second slice of Alestorm's pirate metal anthem Keelhauled, packed with galloping drums, bright keyboard melodies and a full-throated gang chorus that sounds like a crew shouting on deck. It opens with driving energy and keeps that momentum throughout, making it feel rowdy, triumphant and deliberately over the top. Listeners instantly recognise the folk-metal swagger, the sea-shanty spirit and the humour behind a band that treats piracy as a party. It lands best as a burst of chaos and celebration, turning an ordinary moment into something that feels like a boarding party.
