Celebration was released by American funk band Kool and the Gang in 1980 as the lead single from their album Celebrate. Written around the idea of universal good times, it reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and became the group's signature song. It has since been played at weddings, sporting events, graduations and New Year parties for decades, and its chorus remains instantly recognisable. Online, the short clip is reused as a ready made party cue whenever a creator wants an instantly familiar feeling of shared joy and success.
