Press for a sudden blast of tinny toy phone chaos

Über diesen Sound

This 13-second clip is a high-pitched toy phone ringtone pushed far past clean volume until it clips into a harsh, squeaky blast, with a bright, bouncy electronic tune still audible underneath the distortion. It feels jarring and absurd, turning a cute plastic-phone melody into something almost painful and impossible to ignore. It circulates as an earrape gag on online soundboards.

Profi-Tipp

Keep everything before it quiet and let it hit at full volume without warning, because the gag depends on the sudden jump from silence to an overloaded toy ring.

Gut zu wissen

Place it right at the reveal in a prank edit, after a short setup sound builds the phone-call expectation, then cut straight to a Vine Boom Sound Effect for the reaction shot. For a chat gag, follow a Discord Notification Sound Effect with this clip to sell the fake incoming call.

FAQ

Can I save the Chinese toy phone sound as a ringtone?

Yes, download the MP3 and set it as your ringtone in your phone settings, choosing the file as a custom tone for calls. Keep the volume moderate at first, since the clip is intentionally loud and distorted.

Will the Chinese toy phone clip work as a prank call gag?

Yes, it works best when the other person expects a normal call, so send it without warning in a chat or play it from another phone nearby. The sudden toy ring makes the fake call feel absurd rather than believable.

What should I pair the Chinese toy phone sound with in an edit?

Pair it with a short phone setup sound first, then follow it with a boom or fail sound for the reaction. That order sells the fake call before the edit cuts to the joke.
