Chris Smoove is a long-running gaming YouTuber best known for his NBA 2K playthroughs and laid-back, catchphrase-heavy commentary, and Cheese fits that style perfectly as a short, memorable vocal tag. Fans began clipping his voice lines for soundboards and short-form edits, where a single recognisable word can carry a whole joke. The clip spread through gaming montages and reaction videos rather than through one viral moment, which is why it still works today: listeners who know Smoove hear the reference instantly, while new viewers still get the humour from the delivery alone.

Chris Smoove says Cheese in this meme sound effect from his gaming videos, perfect for reaction edits, funny moments and clips that need a cheesy punchline.
Chris Smoove delivers a single, drawn-out Cheese with his trademark smooth, confident delivery, turning a simple word into a knowing joke for anyone who recognises his style. The clip is short and clean, with his voice front and centre and no music or background noise to distract from the punchline. It lands instantly because it sounds both casual and deliberately over-the-top, like a catchphrase dropped at exactly the right moment. Used in edits, it adds instant personality, signalling a win, a cheesy play or a moment worth laughing at without needing any explanation.
