Dr. Weird is a recurring mad scientist from Aqua Teen Hunger Force, the surreal Adult Swim animated comedy built around short, strange cold opens. In those openings he often addresses an unseen audience before unveiling a bizarre invention, and Gentlemen, behold became his signature way of framing the moment. The line spread beyond the show as a reaction sound for reveals in online videos, where its formal, old-fashioned phrasing contrasts sharply with modern, low-stakes content. That contrast keeps it useful for creators who want a quick, instantly recognisable setup for a joke.
Über diesen Sound
Dr. Weird says Gentlemen, Behold in this Aqua Teen Hunger Force clip, used for dramatic reveals, grand entrances and absurd introductions in memes and edits.
This clip captures Dr. Weird delivering his signature line with theatrical, mad-scientist flourish, pausing for effect before the word Behold lands like a curtain reveal. His voice is deep, eccentric and slightly unhinged, turning a simple introduction into a moment of absurd ceremony. The delivery feels both grand and ridiculous, which is exactly why it works so well as a punchline. Played over an ordinary object, a friend walking into a room or a deliberately underwhelming reveal, it inflates the moment until the mismatch becomes the joke. Listeners expect something spectacular, and that expectation makes even the smallest payoff feel funnier.
