Phonk grew out of underground Memphis rap and later exploded online as the sound of drift, gym and gaming edits on TikTok and YouTube, where its slow tempo and distorted bass fit short, high-impact clips perfectly. Gojira, the French metal band behind the heavy guitar style referenced here, is known for crushing riffs and rhythmic intensity, which makes that sound a natural match for phonk's dark energy. Fan-made phonk remixes like this one circulate as edit audio, reused whenever creators want a heavier, more aggressive alternative to mainstream workout music.
Über diesen Sound
A heavy, bass-driven phonk remix inspired by Gojira's aggressive metal sound, used in edits and gym clips for an intense, driving energy boost.
This 19-second phonk track takes the crushing, down-tuned weight of Gojira's metal style and rebuilds it around a slow, distorted bassline, punchy cowbell hits and chopped vocal samples. The drums hit hard and steady, the low end stays thick and menacing, and the whole mix feels dark, confident and built for movement. It does not sound like a clean studio song; it sounds raw, underground and made for short videos. Played under an edit, it instantly raises the intensity, making ordinary footage feel heavier, faster and more dramatic, like the moment before something big happens.
