Fox McCloud, the Star Fox pilot, has been a top tier fighter since Super Smash Bros. Melee launched for GameCube in 2001. His Up Smash became famous not just for its knockback but for this piercing yell, which players clipped and shared on soundboards. The clip spread through gaming forums and meme edits, often paired with slow motion launches and Kirby matchups. It sits alongside other stretched scream favourites like Faaaa as a go-to shorthand for exaggerated pain and surprise in competitive gaming clips.

Fox's high-pitched scream from his Up Smash in Super Smash Bros. Melee, used as a short reaction sound for sudden hits, fails and over-the-top moments.
This is the sharp, drawn-out yell Fox lets out when his Up Smash connects in Super Smash Bros. Melee. The pitch climbs fast and the vowel stretches into a panicked HAAAAAAAAAA that sounds far too dramatic for a less than one second clip. That exaggeration is the appeal, turning a normal fighting game hit into a moment of cartoonish shock. Played on its own it reads instantly as someone getting launched, caught off guard or completely overwhelmed, which is why it works so well layered over gameplay clips and reaction edits.
