The Idam sound comes from a short Turkish clip of a man shouting Idam, the Turkish word for execution, again and again in an impassioned voice. Shared widely as a meme audio, it has become a shorthand online for exaggerated outrage, used when creators want to joke that a mistake or scandal deserves the harshest possible verdict. Because the phrase is short, loud and instantly recognisable to Turkish-speaking audiences, it travels well in reaction videos, edits and short-form posts, where a single repeated word can carry the whole joke without any explanation.
Über diesen Sound
A Turkish man loudly and repeatedly shouts Idam, a short meme sound used in online reaction videos and edits to mock dramatic calls for punishment.
The clip captures a man shouting the Turkish word Idam over and over in a raised, urgent voice, each repetition landing harder than the last. His tone is strained and theatrical, somewhere between genuine anger and comic exaggeration, which is why it works as a reaction sound. Played on its own it sounds like a protest chant, but dropped into a video it frames whatever just happened as scandalous or deserving of extreme judgment. The short length keeps the joke punchy, letting creators cut to the shouting without any build-up, and the raw recording makes it feel like a moment caught on camera rather than a studio line.
