'Kein Wort gehört' is everyday German for 'didn't hear a word,' and this short voice clip circulates on German-language soundboards as a quick reaction line. Its exact source is undocumented — it arrived as a user upload with no credited film, show, or speaker — but its job is clear: a deadpan denial played the instant someone is caught hearing what they shouldn't have. It sits alongside other German-language meme quotes such as Kann es sein das du dumm bist, traded between creators as instant, subtitle-free punchlines for awkward moments.
Über diesen Sound
A short German voice clip saying 'kein Wort gehört' ('didn't hear a word'), used as a deadpan reaction when pretending to have missed something awkward.
This 1.7-second clip captures a dry, matter-of-fact German voice delivering the line 'kein Wort gehört' — literally 'not a word heard,' the German way of saying 'I didn't hear a word.' The delivery is flat and unhurried, which is exactly what sells the joke: the speaker is clearly pretending to have missed something everyone knows they heard. Dropped over a reaction shot or a guilty pause, it lands as a wink of plausible deniability, turning an awkward moment into a shared laugh without a single raised voice.
