Kira is the alias used by Light Yagami, the main character of the anime and manga series Death Note, who uses a notebook that kills anyone whose name is written in it. His rare, unrestrained laugh became one of the character's most shared moments because it contrasts with his usual calm, perfect student image. Clips of the laugh spread through anime edits, soundboards and reaction videos, where it now stands in for any smug mastermind moment, even for viewers who have not watched the full series.
Über diesen Sound
Iconic manic laugh of Kira from Death Note, used in edits and reaction videos when a character reveals an evil plan or wins at someone else's expense.
A short, escalating maniacal laugh that starts controlled and quickly turns unhinged, loud and triumphant. The voice cracks with delight as the laughing stretches out, making it feel less like amusement and more like a villain finally dropping the mask. There is no music or dialogue to soften it, just the raw cackle filling the few seconds. Viewers instantly read it as smug, dangerous and over the top, which is why a normal smile or victory feels transformed into something sinister and hilariously dramatic when this laugh is laid over it.
