7 Grand Dad is a bootleg Famicom version of Super Mario Bros. in which Mario is replaced by a character resembling Fred Flintstone, later nicknamed Grand Dad. The odd swap caught on online, especially through SiIvaGunner-style remixes and YouTube memes, where Grand Dad became a recurring joke character rather than a forgotten bootleg. Fans now use short clips from the game as shorthand for absurd Mario humour, keeping the character alive long after the original cartridge faded from view.

The short Grand Dad sound effect from the bootleg Mario game, used as a punchline and reaction clip in online memes, video edits and livestreams.
This is a very short, punchy clip built around Grand Dad, the bootleg Mario lookalike from 7 Grand Dad. It lands in just over a second, with a bright, cartoonish burst that feels instantly familiar to anyone who has seen the meme. The humour comes from that sudden recognition: a familiar Mario-style moment is replaced by something stranger and sillier, and the clip ends before the joke can overstay its welcome. Played over a reaction shot, a failed attempt or an unexpected reveal, it turns a small moment into a knowing punchline, especially for viewers who already know Grand Dad as an internet in-joke.
