The line comes from SpongeBob SquarePants, where a background fish delivers the blunt judgement in the show's familiar underwater world. Lifted from the cartoon, the short clip took on a second life online as a reaction sound, shared on soundboards and clipped into memes and short videos whenever someone needed a quick, sarcastic put-down. Its staying power comes from that simple setup: one unimpressed voice saying what the audience is already thinking, which makes it easy to reuse across gaming fails, sports bloopers and everyday embarrassments without losing its bite.
Über diesen Sound
The SpongeBob reaction clip where a fish groans 'oh brother, this guy stinks,' used sarcastically for bad plays, smelly jokes and embarrassing moments in memes.
This short clip captures a deadpan, exasperated fish voice from SpongeBob SquarePants delivering the line 'oh brother, this guy stinks' with a slow, disgusted drawl that lands like a judgement rather than a shout. The delivery is dry and unimpressed, stretching the word brother just enough to sell the disbelief before dropping to a flat, dismissive finish. It works because it sounds like a bored bystander calling out something obviously bad, making it perfect for roasting a failed attempt, a terrible take or a character who has just embarrassed themselves in front of everyone.
