Peido is the Portuguese word for a fart, and this clip circulates online as a short Portuguese-language meme sound rather than as a line from a known film, show or song. On soundboards it is shared by its distinctive title, which makes it easy to find for editors who want a quick Brazilian or Portuguese-flavoured joke without a long effect. Its spread follows the usual meme pattern: a brief, instantly recognisable noise gets reused in reaction videos, pranks and short edits, and it stays popular because the humour needs no translation and works in under two seconds.
Über diesen Sound
A short, cartoonish fart sound known as Peido Do Carpeta, used in Brazilian meme edits and reaction videos for a quick, silly punchline after an awkward moment.
Peido Do Carpeta is a very short fart sound, lasting under two seconds, with a blunt, cartoonish burst that lands instantly and then stops. It sounds like a single exaggerated raspberry rather than a long or realistic effect, which makes it easy to drop over a face, a fail, or a pause without drowning out the dialogue around it. The humour comes from the timing: the sound is crude, sudden and unmistakably silly, so it turns an ordinary clip into a joke in a single beat. Listeners usually react with a laugh or a groan, exactly the response meme editors want when they need a cheap, fast punchline.
