Peter Griffin is the main character of Family Guy, the long-running animated sitcom created by Seth MacFarlane, and 'holy crap' is one of his most repeated catchphrases. Clips of the line began circulating as a reaction sound on YouTube, TikTok and Discord, where creators used it to punctuate surprising moments without needing any context from the episode. Its appeal comes from how instantly recognisable the voice and delivery are, even for people who do not watch the show regularly. That familiarity has kept it in regular use in memes, edits and gaming videos years after the original episodes aired.

Peter Griffin says 'holy crap' in this Family Guy reaction sound, perfect for moments of shock, surprise or disbelief in memes, edits and reaction videos.
Peter Griffin's shocked 'holy crap' is a short, instantly recognisable reaction from Family Guy, delivered in Seth MacFarlane's deep, slightly bewildered voice. The clip captures that perfect beat of disbelief, with the words drawn out just enough to land as a punchline on their own. It sounds surprised, a little panicked and completely over the top, which is exactly why it works so well out of context. Hearing it makes a mundane moment feel suddenly dramatic, turning a small surprise into a full cartoon reaction that viewers recognise straight away.
