Richard Watterson is the father in The Amazing World of Gumball, the Cartoon Network animated series about Gumball and his family in the fictional town of Elmore. Known for his laziness, gluttony and childlike panic, Richard often reacts to everyday problems with wildly disproportionate emotion, which makes his drawn-out scream a natural reaction sound. Shared widely on soundboards and in short-form edits, the Nooooooo works as shorthand for defeat, disbelief and comic despair, and it remains popular because it is instantly recognisable even without any dialogue around it.
Über diesen Sound
Richard Watterson screams a long, dramatic Nooooooo from The Amazing World of Gumball, used in memes and videos to react to sudden fails and bad news.
The clip captures Richard Watterson, the lazy pink rabbit dad from The Amazing World of Gumball, unleashing an extended, wailing Nooooooo that rises, cracks and drags on far longer than a normal shout. His voice sounds panicked and cartoonishly over-the-top, with a stretched vowel that turns a simple moment of disappointment into full-blown melodrama. Played over a fail, it instantly signals that something has gone badly wrong, while also making the disaster feel funny rather than serious. The exaggeration is the joke: the longer it goes on, the more ridiculous the reaction becomes.
