Shao Kahn is the tyrannical emperor of Outworld and one of Mortal Kombat's most enduring villains, known for his brute strength, hammer and contempt for his enemies. His mocking laugh became a signature part of his character in the games, often heard after a victory or a brutal finishing move. Clips of the laugh later spread through gameplay videos, reaction memes and short-form edits, where creators reuse it as shorthand for arrogant triumph. It remains popular because it is instantly recognisable even without any visuals.

The deep, menacing laugh of Shao Kahn from Mortal Kombat, often used in memes and gaming edits to mock a defeated opponent or celebrate a villainous victory.
This short clip captures Shao Kahn, the tyrannical emperor of Outworld, letting out a deep, booming laugh that sounds both triumphant and cruel. His voice is low and gravelly, rising into a mocking cackle that lingers just long enough to feel like a taunt. In Mortal Kombat, that laugh signals total dominance, as if the fight was never in doubt. Heard on its own, it instantly creates a villainous mood, making any defeat, fail or comeback feel more dramatic, over-the-top and darkly funny.
