SMG4 is a long-running YouTube parody series that reimagines Nintendo's Mario in chaotic, meme-filled short videos, and its exaggerated Mario voice has become instantly recognisable to fans of internet comedy. Short reaction clips from the series circulate widely on soundboards, TikTok and YouTube edits, where creators reuse them as shorthand for surprise or realisation. This particular ooooh has stayed popular because it is simple, instantly readable and easy to drop into almost any funny reveal.
Über diesen Sound
SMG4 Mario's drawn-out ooooh sound effect from the Super Mario parody series, used in edits and memes for moments of surprise, awe or dramatic realisation.
This short clip captures Mario from the SMG4 parody series letting out a long, rising ooooh that stretches for several seconds before trailing off. The voice is high-pitched, cartoonish and deliberately over-the-top, shifting from curious wonder to dawning realisation as it builds. Because the sound is so exaggerated, it instantly makes an ordinary reveal feel bigger, sillier and more dramatic. Viewers recognise it as a classic SMG4 reaction, so hearing it signals that something surprising, impressive or absurd is about to happen, and it works best when the visual payoff lands right as the sound peaks.
