The scream comes from Stephen Quire's appearance in Wafflepwn's Greatest Freakout Ever 39, a video featuring McJuggerNuggets that built on Wafflepwn's long-running freakout series. In the clip, Quire unleashes the loud, drawn-out yell that fans later clipped and shared as a standalone scream meme. Its appeal comes from how recognisable and reusable the moment is: one unfiltered outburst that can stand in for anger, panic, or disbelief without any extra context. As short-form edits and soundboards spread the clip, it became a shorthand for over-the-top reactions, and creators still reach for it when a scene needs instant chaos.

Stephen Quire's demotic scream from Wafflepwn's Greatest Freakout Ever 39, a loud, chaotic yell used in memes and edits for shock and overreaction moments.
This is Stephen Quire letting out a long, raw, demotic scream, recorded during one of Wafflepwn's freakout videos. The yell starts suddenly, rises in pitch and volume, and holds with a strained, almost unhinged energy that sounds both angry and completely overwhelmed. There is no music or dialogue to soften it, just one person's voice pushed to its limit. Hearing it feels jarring and funny at the same time, which is why it works so well as a punchline. It instantly makes a quiet or ordinary moment feel chaotic, dramatic, and far more extreme than it really is.
