This sound comes from Tennis Racquet, a Walt Disney Goofy cartoon released on 26 August 1949, in which Goofy’s disastrous attempt at tennis turns a quiet room into a wreck. The brief shelf collapse, with its layered clatters and thuds, was lifted from the cartoon’s soundtrack and shared on soundboards as a ready-made slapstick effect. Because the gag needs no dialogue, it travelled easily across memes, edits and reaction videos. Decades later it still works as instant shorthand for a clumsy accident or a plan falling apart.
Über diesen Sound
A cartoon crash from Disney's 1949 Goofy short Tennis Racquet, with shelves collapsing and items tumbling down. Perfect for messy fails and slapstick scenes.
This five-second clip captures the moment a tall shelf gives way in a classic Goofy cartoon, sending plates, books and boxes crashing to the floor in a noisy, tumbling pile. You hear wood creaking, objects clattering against each other and a final heavy thud as everything settles, all timed with the exaggerated, bouncy energy of late-1940s Disney animation. It feels instantly messy and chaotic, like a small disaster unfolding in slow motion. That slapstick timing makes it perfect for turning an ordinary mistake into a funny, over-the-top collapse.
