Sus clapping circulates online as a short meme soundboard clip rather than a line from a film or television show, and its popularity comes from how easily it fits short-form video. The word sus, short for suspicious, became widespread internet slang for calling out shady behaviour, and creators adopted this looping applause as its audio shorthand. It is now commonly dropped into reaction edits, gaming montages and TikTok-style clips whenever a moment needs a knowing, judgemental punchline without explanation.
Über diesen Sound
A short, looping clap sound effect used to mock suspicious behaviour in memes and reaction videos. It adds sarcastic applause to awkward or 'sus' moments.
The sus clapping sound is a short, looping burst of dry, rhythmic applause that feels deliberately slow and unimpressed rather than celebratory. Each clap lands cleanly with a sharp, hollow snap, and the steady repetition gives it a sarcastic edge, like someone applauding a decision they clearly do not respect. Played over a clip, it instantly frames the person on screen as suspicious, awkward or caught out, turning a small moment into a joke without needing any dialogue. The humour comes from the contrast: applause is supposed to praise, but here it quietly judges.
