The song comes from the SpongeBob SquarePants episode Band Geeks, which first aired in 2001, where Squidward's hastily assembled marching band performs Sweet Victory at the Bubble Bowl. Written by David Glen Eisley and Bob Kulick, it became one of the show's most beloved musical moments. After series creator Stephen Hillenburg died in 2018, fans petitioned for it to be played at the Super Bowl halftime show, and a short clip aired during Super Bowl LIII in 2019. It endures online as the go to anthem for underdog triumphs.

The rock anthem Sweet Victory performed by SpongeBob and the Bikini Bottom band at the Bubble Bowl, a victory meme for wins and epic comebacks.
Sweet Victory is a soaring stadium rock song performed by SpongeBob SquarePants and the Bikini Bottom band during the Bubble Bowl halftime show in the episode Band Geeks. It opens with a ringing guitar riff and pounding drums before SpongeBob's earnest, slightly nasal lead vocal lifts into a huge singalong chorus backed by brass and crowd cheers. The nineteen second clip captures the peak of that triumphant swell. Hearing it instantly signals an underdog win, turning an ordinary moment into a slow motion celebration and giving viewers a rush of nostalgic joy.
