The Unova starters, Snivy, Tepig and Oshawott, first appeared in Pokémon Black and White, while the drawn-out oof became one of gaming's most recognisable death sounds through Roblox. Fans began mixing the two worlds in short edits, giving the familiar Roblox noise a Pokémon battle context where a starter faints instead of a blocky avatar. Clips like this spread through meme compilations and soundboards, where the joke relies on recognition of both franchises. It remains popular because the sound is short, instantly understood, and easy to drop onto any fail moment.
Über diesen Sound
The classic Roblox oof death sound given a Unova starter twist, used by Pokémon fans for funny fail and defeat moments in gaming edits and memes.
The clip is a short, punchy take on the famous Roblox death noise, reimagined as if a Pokémon starter from the Unova region has just been knocked out. It opens with a quick, cartoonish groan that stretches into the drawn-out 'oof' everyone recognises from Roblox, pitched and timed to feel like a creature fainting in battle. The effect is instantly comic rather than sad: the familiar game-over sound lands on an unexpected Pokémon character, making a defeat feel silly and shareable. Viewers tend to laugh at the mismatch, especially if they know both Roblox and Pokémon Black and White.
