The exact recording behind this clip is not credited to a specific series, but uwu itself began as a text emoticon showing a closed eyed happy face and spread through anime fandom, chat culture and social media in the 2010s. As voice memes grew, fans began saying it aloud in a cute style, turning the written expression into an audio reaction. It now sits alongside other short anime voice clips like anime ahh and tuturu on soundboards, and remains popular because it instantly signals kawaii affection in edits, streams and chats.
Über diesen Sound
A short cute anime girl voice saying uwu in a soft high pitched tone. Creators use it for kawaii reactions, shy moments and playful anime edits.
This is a brief, high pitched anime style voice clip of a young female character saying uwu, the text emoticon turned into a sound. The delivery is soft, breathy and exaggeratedly cute, with the vowel stretched just enough to feel shy and affectionate rather than spoken normally. It lasts only a couple of seconds, so the sweetness lands instantly. Viewers hear it as a signal of delight, embarrassment or playful innocence, which makes the moment on screen feel lighter and more endearing, even when the reaction is being used ironically for comedy.
