Warcraft III, released by Blizzard in 2002, made the orc peon one of its most recognisable worker units, with short spoken responses for selection and orders. The peon's gruff acknowledgement became a familiar sound for players who spent hours building bases and gathering resources, and clips of those responses later circulated on soundboards and in gaming videos. It survives because the single word is instantly understood, easy to drop into an edit and funny precisely because it sounds so unenthusiastic.
