The line comes from Bee Movie, the 2007 DreamWorks animated comedy starring Jerry Seinfeld as Barry B. Benson, a bee who befriends a florist named Vanessa. 'You like jazz?' is one of Barry's smoothest lines in the film and became a cornerstone of the Bee Movie meme wave that swept the internet around 2016. Alongside sped-up edits and script memes, the quote turned into shorthand for cheesy confidence. It still appears in reaction edits and ironic memes because the delivery is endlessly quotable.
Über diesen Sound
The 'You like jazz?' line from Barry B. Benson in Bee Movie (2007). Creators use this meme sound for ironic reveals, awkward flirts and funny reaction edits.
This clip captures Barry B. Benson, the fast-talking bee voiced by Jerry Seinfeld, leaning in and asking 'You like jazz?' in a smooth, confident tone. The delivery is playful and slightly smug, with a jazzy lilt that makes the question feel like a cheesy pickup line. Heard on its own, it is instantly recognizable to anyone who has seen the Bee Movie memes. Dropping it into a video creates an immediate wink to the audience, turning an ordinary moment into something knowingly absurd and lighthearted, and it almost always lands a laugh from viewers who catch the reference.
