The star KO is a signature knockout animation from Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. series, where a fighter launched off the top of the stage rockets away with a sparkling trail and a bright chime instead of simply blasting sideways. Yoshi, the green dinosaur from the Super Mario games, is one of the fighters who can be star KO'd. Short clips of these KO sounds circulate widely on soundboards, where editors grab them to mark knockouts, rage quits and comic ejections in gaming montages and meme edits.

The Yoshi star KO sound effect from Super Smash Bros, a bright twinkle as he flies off screen. Used for knockouts, fails and dramatic exits in gaming edits.
This is the star KO jingle tied to Yoshi, the short sparkling chime heard when a fighter is launched clean off the top of the stage in Super Smash Bros. It opens with a quick rising shimmer and ends on a bright, cartoonish ping, lasting barely a third of a second. The effect feels light and final at once, like a tiny firework marking the end of a fight. Dropped over a clip, it instantly sells the idea that someone has been sent flying, turning an ordinary fall or defeat into a clean, satisfying knockout moment.
