Dr. Evil, played by Mike Myers, is the scheming villain of the Austin Powers comedy film series, which began in 1997 with Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery. His deadpan delivery and exaggerated villainy made many of his lines quotable, and short clips of his dialogue later spread through meme pages, reaction videos, and soundboard collections. “Zip it” endures because it is brief, instantly recognisable, and easy to place over almost any argument, giving creators a familiar punchline without needing the original scene for context.
Über diesen Sound
Dr. Evil from Austin Powers sharply says "Zip it" in this short movie quote, often used to silence someone or end an argument in memes and edits.
The clip captures Dr. Evil delivering the blunt command “Zip it” in a cold, controlled voice that leaves no room for argument. His tone is low and deliberate, with a sharp cut at the end that makes the phrase land like a door slamming shut. It sounds less like a shout and more like an order from someone used to being obeyed, which is why it feels instantly funny and slightly intimidating at the same time. In a video, it stops a rambling character mid-sentence, punctures an overconfident claim, or gives a creator a clean way to shut down a joke before it goes too far.
