Hit Em Up was released in 1996 by 2Pac, with the Outlawz, as the B-side to How Do U Want It, and it quickly became one of the most notorious diss tracks in hip-hop history. Aimed directly at the Notorious B.I.G. and Bad Boy Records, its blunt lyrics and aggressive delivery turned a West Coast versus East Coast rivalry into a cultural flashpoint. Decades later, short excerpts circulate widely in memes, edits and reaction videos because the track remains instantly recognisable as a symbol of rap confrontation.

This nine-second clip captures the confrontational energy of 2Pac's Hit Em Up, opening with a driving West Coast beat before his sharp, unflinching delivery cuts through. The production is raw and punchy, with a heavy bassline and crisp drums that instantly signal a challenge rather than a celebration. Hearing it triggers recognition for hip-hop fans, who associate the track with one of rap's most famous rivalries, and it creates instant tension for everyone else. That mix of familiarity and aggression makes the sound feel bold, defiant and impossible to ignore in a short edit.
