'Boats 'N Hoes' comes from Step Brothers, the 2008 comedy starring Will Ferrell as Brennan Huff and John C. Reilly as Dale Doback. The two perform the deliberately terrible rap at a yacht party scene, and the clip took on a second life on YouTube, soundboards and TikTok as a shorthand for over-the-top boat flexing. Its appeal is the contrast between the characters' total confidence and the song's obvious awfulness, which is why creators still reach for it whenever water, boats or summer parties appear on screen.

The 'Boats 'N Hoes' chant from Step Brothers (2008), with Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly rapping over a beat. Used for yacht, party and summer flex memes.
This ten-second clip loops the goofy 'Boats 'N Hoes' hook from Step Brothers, with Brennan and Dale chanting the phrase over a bouncy, low-budget hip-hop beat. The vocals are deliberately off-key and overconfident, which is exactly why it lands as comedy. Dropped under a video, it instantly turns any boat, pool or beach shot into an ironic flex, making an ordinary day on the water feel like a ridiculous yacht-party anthem. The repetition makes it stick in the viewer's head long after the clip ends, and the cheap beat keeps the whole thing feeling like a joke between friends.
