The sound comes from DashieXP, the comedy gaming creator behind the DashieGames channel, known for loud reactions to games like Mortal Kombat and Super Mario Maker. His 'What Up' greeting became a familiar opening line across his uploads and was clipped by fans into a standalone soundboard button. It spread through gaming edits, reaction videos and meme compilations where a short, high energy hello was needed. It remains popular because the delivery is distinctive and instantly signals a Dashie style reaction without needing any visual context.
