Discord launched in 2015 as a voice and text app for gaming communities, and its short message alert quickly became one of the most recognised sounds online. As streamers, YouTubers and TikTok creators shared gameplay and chat reactions, the chime moved beyond the app itself and into edits, memes and comedy sketches. Today it works as instant shorthand for a new message, a reply or someone trying to get attention, because almost anyone who watches online video has heard it while using Discord or watching a stream.
Sobre este sonido
The short Discord notification chime that plays when a new message arrives, used in videos and streams to signal a ping, alert or incoming chat.
The Discord notification is a brief, bright two-tone chime that instantly reads as an incoming message, even at very low volume. It rises and falls in under a second, with a clean, digital tone that cuts through speech, music and game audio without sounding harsh. For viewers, it triggers an automatic check-the-phone reflex, which makes it perfect for jokes about being ignored, interrupted or suddenly popular. Creators use it to punctuate a text reveal, fake a DM arriving mid-scene or signal that someone is typing, chatting or waiting for a reply.
