The xD emoticon has been shorthand for laughing in chats, forums and gaming lobbies since the 2000s, typed with closed eyes and a wide open mouth. Saying ecks dee out loud flips that joke, performing the laugh in the flattest possible way to show something was not funny. The spoken version spread through meme soundboards, Discord servers and short-form video edits as a sarcastic reaction clip. It endures because it needs no context: three syllables instantly frame any flop, pun or awkward pause as intentionally unfunny.
Sobre este sonido
A deadpan voice spells out ecks dee, the spoken xD laugh emoticon. Creators play it over failed jokes and awkward clips as a deliberately unfunny reaction.
This clip is a short spoken meme sound in which a flat, deadpan voice says the syllables ecks dee, pronouncing the classic xD laughing emoticon out loud instead of actually laughing. It lasts just a few seconds and has the dry timing of someone reading a chat message word for word. Because the delivery is deliberately emotionless, it lands as sarcasm rather than joy, turning the laugh into a joke about the joke itself. Viewers hear it as a roast, a signal that the funny moment flopped, which makes it perfect for awkward pauses, bad puns and intentionally cringe edits.
