Herbert, full name John Herbert, is a recurring character in the animated sitcom Family Guy, which premiered on Fox in 1999 and was created by Seth MacFarlane. Voiced by Mike Henry, the elderly Quahog resident is known for his soft whisper and unsettling interest in Chris Griffin, a running gag built around awkward pauses and drawn out speech. Clips of his lines were widely shared on early soundboards and later on YouTube and TikTok, where the instantly recognisable voice became shorthand for a creepy but cartoonish character entering a scene.

Herbert the Pervert sound effect from Family Guy, featuring his creepy whispering voice used in memes, prank videos and reaction edits online.
This clip captures Herbert the Pervert from Family Guy in his signature soft, wheezing whisper, delivering a line with slow, drawn out phrasing that instantly signals creepy comic intent. The elderly character's high, breathy tone and lingering pauses make the delivery feel both unsettling and absurd, which is why the audio lands so well as a punchline. Listeners recognise the voice immediately, and the contrast between the innocent tone and the implied intentions creates an awkward tension that turns a normal scene into a darkly funny meme moment.
