Man's Not Hot began as a 2017 freestyle by comedian Michael Dapaah performing as Big Shaq on BBC Radio 1Xtra's Fire in the Booth, before becoming a full viral single later that year. Its nonsense ad-libs, including skraaa and skrrt-pop-pop, were quoted, remixed, and clipped across social media far beyond the original track. The phrase man's not hot also became a catchphrase from the song's repeated hook. Years later, the isolated skraaa remains a shorthand meme sound for mock confidence and playful bravado online.
