À propos de ce son

Carl Fredricksen scream from Pixar's Up, the short frustrated yell from the elderly widower. Used as a reaction sound for anger, shock and funny fails.

This is a brief, sharp scream from Carl Fredricksen, the gruff elderly protagonist of Pixar's Up. Voiced by Ed Asner, the yell is high, strained and suddenly loud, cutting off almost as quickly as it starts. It is not a horror scream but an exasperated outburst, the sound of a man pushed past patience. That contrast between Carl's usual quiet stubbornness and the abrupt noise makes it instantly funny and startling. Viewers recognise it as pure frustration, which is why the clip works as a punchline for annoyance, disbelief or an over the top reaction.

Conseil pro

Place the scream right on the cut where a character realises something has gone wrong, with no build up. Keep the preceding second quiet so Carl's yell hits harder, and avoid layering music underneath or repeating it more than once per scene.

Comment les gens l'utilisent

Drop it when a game character falls unexpectedly.

Add it to a fail compilation at the impact moment.
