Hadouken is the name of Ryu's signature projectile move in Capcom's Street Fighter series, first introduced in the arcade era of the late 1980s. The shout became one of the most recognizable voice clips in fighting games and spread far beyond the games themselves through memes, parody videos and short-form edits. It stays popular because even non-players often recognize it instantly as a fighting game reference. It is closely associated with other Street Fighter cues such as Fatality-style finishing jokes, although that phrase comes from a different series.
