Halloween from 2007 is Rob Zombie's remake of John Carpenter's 1978 slasher, retelling Michael Myers' origin with a darker, more brutal tone. Its score reworks Carpenter's famous piano theme into something heavier and more oppressive, suited to the film's bleaker vision. Clips of that theme have since circulated online as a shorthand for Halloween dread, especially in October when creators make horror edits, haunted house videos and scary countdowns. It endures because the melody is instantly recognisable, even in a short excerpt, and immediately sets a menacing mood.
