Holz was released in 2016 by 257ers, a hip hop duo from Essen, Germany, as a single from their album Mikrokosmos. The track plays its premise completely straight, rapping with serious flow about a love for wood, which helped it become a major German chart hit and a long-running online joke. Its repetitive Ich und mein Holz chorus was easy to clip, quote and remix, so the excerpt kept circulating on video platforms for building gags, crafting posts and ironic lumber themes long after release.
À propos de ce son
Clip from Holz by German rap duo 257ers, the catchy hook celebrating wood that creators use for building, crafting and lumberjack meme edits.
This clip is the standout hook from Holz by 257ers, built around a simple, repetitive chant praising a piece of wood. The delivery is deadpan and rhythmic, with the word Holz punched out over a bouncy beat that makes the joke land harder each time it repeats. It turns an ordinary material into something oddly heroic, so even a short excerpt feels instantly recognisable. Listeners get the humour immediately, whether the video shows real carpentry or something completely unrelated being treated with absurd, over the top pride.
