Kaamelott is a French comedy television series created by Alexandre Astier, broadcast on M6 from 2005 to 2009 as a parody of Arthurian legend. Its quotable, theatrical dialogue made it a cult classic in France, and short audio clips from the show circulate widely on soundboards, forums and TikTok. 'C'est une honte' ('it's a disgrace') is one of those reusable outbursts of mock indignation, deployed online whenever someone wants to theatrically condemn a fail, a bad take or an unfair moment with unmistakably French flair.
À propos de ce son
An indignant 'Quoi? C'est une honte' outburst from the French comedy series Kaamelott, used as a reaction meme for outrageous fails, bad takes and scandals.
The clip opens with a sharp, incredulous 'Quoi?' that snaps instantly into a full-throated 'C'est une honte!!', delivered with theatrical, almost operatic indignation. The voice is loud, clipped and dripping with mock outrage, the kind of over-the-top anger that lands as comedy rather than threat. It sounds like a man who has just witnessed something unforgivable and needs everyone in the room to know it. Played over a fail or a bad take, it turns mild disapproval into a grand public shaming, which is exactly why French meme makers reach for it.
