Female horror screams are a staple of online soundboards because they are instantly recognisable and need no context to work. This seven-second clip is shared in the same way as other reaction and prank sounds, passed between creators for Halloween videos, scary stories, gaming fails and meme edits where a sudden fright is the joke. Its length makes it easy to drop over a single moment without trimming, and its raw, human quality keeps it feeling immediate rather than cartoonish, which is why editors return to it whenever they need a quick, believable scare.
À propos de ce son
A high-pitched female scream of horror lasting about seven seconds, used in scary videos, pranks and reaction edits to sell a fright or jump scare moment.
The clip is a single, sustained female scream of pure horror that rises sharply and holds its panic for several seconds before trailing off. It sounds raw and unfiltered, with a strained, breathy edge that makes it feel like a genuine reaction rather than a polished studio effect. The volume stays high throughout, so it cuts straight through music or dialogue and forces the listener to flinch. That immediacy is why it works so well as a jump scare or a punchline: it turns an ordinary reveal into something startling, funny or unsettling in an instant.
