Pyro is one of the nine playable classes in Valve's team shooter Team Fortress 2, released in 2007, and the character speaks through a gas mask that muffles every voice line. That distinctive filtered voice made Pyro's short responses easy to lift as soundboard clips, and players began sharing them for quick reactions in matches, streams and fan edits. The single-word refusal survived because it is instantly recognisable to Team Fortress 2 fans, even without context, and it delivers a clear no in under half a second.
