The Angry Video Game Nerd is the foul-mouthed reviewer character created and played by James Rolfe, whose web series built a cult following by roasting unplayable retro games. The 'Alternative end' title comes from this soundboard upload, which lifts the scream from the Nerd's video on the Friday the 13th NES game. Screams from his reviews have circulated as meme reactions for years, dropped into compilations and streams whenever a moment needs pure, exaggerated rage.

AVGN's rage-filled scream from his Friday the 13th NES review, voiced by James Rolfe. Editors use it as a reaction to fails, jumpscares and gaming moments.
This short clip captures the Angry Video Game Nerd mid-meltdown, unleashing a raw, throat-shredding scream that builds and then cracks with comic fury. Voiced by James Rolfe, the delivery carries his trademark mix of genuine frustration and theatrical rage, the kind of yell that feels ripped straight out of a basement game room. Hearing it instantly tells a viewer that something has gone catastrophically wrong, turning an ordinary fail into a full-blown meltdown moment. It works because the scream is pure overreaction: loud, unfiltered and unmistakably AVGN.
