The Dung Defender is Ogrim, one of the Five Great Knights of Hallownest in Hollow Knight, the 2017 metroidvania by Team Cherry. Once a revered defender of the White King, he remained at his post in the Royal Waterways long after the kingdom fell, greeting intruders with unwavering cheer. His voiced barks became fan favourites for their earnest tone, and individual lines were clipped and shared across gaming communities and soundboards as short reaction sounds for bravado, challenges and comic heroics.
