The sound comes from the saxophone solo in SunStroke Project's Eurovision performance, where Moldovan saxophonist Sergey Stepanov's energetic playing was clipped, looped and shared online as Epic Sax Guy. The short riff spread through YouTube remixes and ten-hour loops, becoming shorthand for triumphant, slightly absurd celebration. Years later, creators still use it because the melody is instantly recognisable even without the original video, and it pairs naturally with other saxophone memes such as Sexy Sax.

The looping saxophone riff from Epic Sax Guy, the viral Eurovision meme, used by creators to add energy and humour to edits and highlight reels.
The clip is the first, full saxophone run from the Epic Sax Guy performance, a bright, punchy brass riff played over a driving dance beat. The saxophone leads with a fast, repeating melody that feels both triumphant and deliberately over the top, rising and falling in short, catchy phrases that are easy to recognise within seconds. Beneath it, the steady electronic rhythm keeps the energy high, making the whole eight-second loop feel larger than life. For viewers, it instantly signals celebration, confidence or absurd exaggeration, turning an ordinary moment into a dramatic entrance or a joke that lands because the music refuses to stay modest.
